Beautiful People… 💙

Thankyou for being here. 

After a brief discussion, it was decided to put together a part proceed fundraiser with ticket sales for our upcoming show at the Norwood Hotel on Friday the 23rd of December. 

And seeing that it was close to Christmas, what a better way to celebrate than to help others in need. 

I’ve taken that a step further. As I want people to also spend a little more and donate as well. 😊

If your going to raise money, than raise money. 

There are many great organisations in this country and state, and rather than put on fundraisers for organisations overseas, and not knowing where the money is going, we stayed at home. 

I decided to look at where help Is needed increasingly. Making sure the funds raised are being used in the proper and legitimate manner. 

The Hutt St Centre is one of my favourite organisations. 

And homelessness is becoming and epidemic in this state. 

This is not only effecting adults, but children as well. 

There are 100’s of reasons why people fall into homelessness. We look past  that and prefer to solely look at creating more awareness and helping in whatever way we can. The reasons do not outweigh the issue. 

Along with this, people can fall deeply in to serious mental health issues, including depression, anxiety, starvation, worthlessness, loneliness and unfortunately, suicide. 

Something i personally am very passionate about. 

The Hutt St Centre is a place of connection and support, where people facing homelessness are empowered to rebuild their lives, rediscover their identities and reconnect with those who love them.

When people walk through the doors they aim to help fulfil their immediate needs, like a shower, a meal, and a charged phone, while our 20+ visiting services provide support ranging from medical check-ups to financial counselling.

And with a focus on the future, they connect people with housing, education and employment opportunities to build the skills and confidence to change their circumstances.

You have not lived today until you have done something for someone who cannot repay you. And there can be no greater gift than that of giving one’s time and energy to help others without expecting anything in return. 

So instead of just being a human being, let’s be a human doing.
